Senator Mike Lee has spent his first term in office focused on advocating a reform agenda aimed at lifting the poor, strengthening the middle class, and ending special privilege for the well connected. This agenda has included reforms to our tax code, system of higher education, criminal justice system, transportation system, the national budget, and our country’s vast regulatory system.
With the Constitution as his guiding star, Senator Lee has organized and led the Article One Project. This project’s main goal is to reclaim congressional authority that has, over time, been given away to executive branch agencies. Senator Lee has been, and will continue to be, a check against an overreaching executive branch.
Government has grown too big, too intrusive, and too expensive. It is not enough to only cut big government; we must also reform broken government. The people of Utah live within their means, serve their neighbors and communities, and understand the principles that have made America the greatest country on earth. Senator Lee will continue to take Utah values to Washington in his quest to make our federal government smaller, more accountable, and more efficient.
