Information for Voters with Disabilities
Below are some options that voters with disabilities have to cast a ballot securely and secretly, but your county may offer additional options. Please contact your county clerk’s office for more information.
(1) Vote by mail
If you receive a mail ballot for the Regular Primary Election, you must postmark your ballot on or before March 4, 2024 (the day before Election Day). You can also drop your ballot off at a dropbox location before 8:00 pm on Election Day.
(2) Vote via email or fax
Utah law allows voters with disabilities to send and receive ballots via email or fax. You may request an email or fax ballot through your county clerk’s office. Your application must be received by your county clerk by Thursday, February 29, 2024.
Utah County is currently conducting a pilot project that allows voters with disabilities to cast their vote using a smartphone app. If you are registered to vote in Utah County, contact the county clerk’s office for more information.
(3) Vote at an early voting location or Election Day voting location
Polling locations have voting machines that offer accommodations for voters who have visual or hearing impairments. If you would like to use an accessible voting machine, inform a poll worker when you arrive. If you would like assistance while voting, you may ask a poll worker or choose any individual to assist you except for your employer, a trade union representative, or a candidate.
